This beast is at Comboyne church, which has now been transformed into a house. The co-dominant stems posed a large risk to the church/house if they were to split. An ariel inspection with the cherry picker concluded that the extent of separation was fairly severe warranting the height reduction. The climber is the young gun Justin Ramsey. Incredible climbing skills and is currently attending Certificate 3 in Arboriculture at Hunter TAFE.
3 of our young fellows just started their official Arborist career on the weekend attending Hunter TAFE doing Certificate 3 in Arboriculture/Horticulture. Jake has been a pleasure to work with since day one and is building on his skills each and every day. If you have young blokes working for you, do them a favour and invest in some training!
Made by The Commonwealth Film Unit 1972. Directed by Oliver Howes. Life in a country town dependent on the timber industry in the Karri country, South-west WA. Shows Karri forests, tree felling, reforestation, controlled burning of undergrowth, hauling and milling the Karri timber. Also show the everyday activities of the local population.
I stumbled across this sometime ago and was mesmerised. In the Port Macquarie Hastings area, were logging is still quite prevalent, its a shame to see the lack of reforestation and management taking place after tree harvesting.
